Bittersweet Comedy
March 12-13-19-20-21-26-27 2004

It was after his sister Susan’s October, 1985 death from diabetes, that playwright Robert Harling decided to write this play. Set in a beauty salon in the fictitious community of Chinquapin, Louisiana (where all the ladies who are "anybody" come to have their hair done), the play is based on what his mother and sister experienced and the community of women that surrounded them. Filled with sharp, funny dialogue, the play builds to a deeply moving conclusion.

Comedy
June 4-5-11-12-13-18-19 2004

A wildly raucous farce. The Buckle brothers, Billy and Tom, are in big trouble. Tom's infallible eye for slow horses has drained away all of Billy's savings, so he has been forced to borrow from loan shark Pizza Face Petrillo, who now wants his money back––or else! There's plenty of money in grandfather Buckle's will, but these two black sheep are pretty sure they'll never see any of that. What else to do but dress Billy up as a nun and have him pose as their cousin who is to inherit the entire fortune? Involve a stuffy young lawyer, a hard–drinking, man–hungry housekeeper and a trio of beautiful young women, and you have the recipe for a laugh–packed evening.
